DIY Chewy Bubble Gum (Print Version)

# Ingredients:

→ Bubble Gum Base

01 - 1/3 cup gum base
02 - ¼ cup corn syrup
03 - 3 tablespoons powdered sugar
04 - 3 tablespoons gum powder

→ Flavorings

05 - ¼ teaspoon citric acid (optional, for sour flavor)
06 - Food coloring of your choice
07 - Candy flavoring oils (cherry, mint, etc.)

# Instructions:

01 - Put the gum base in a microwave-safe bowl and heat it in 30-second bursts, stirring between each interval until it's completely melted and smooth.
02 - Pour in the corn syrup and mix thoroughly until everything is well combined. The mixture will be thick and sticky at this point.
03 - Add a few drops of your chosen food coloring and flavoring oil. Start with just a little - you can always add more if needed. Stir until the color and flavor are evenly distributed.
04 - Sprinkle a work surface with powdered sugar, then dump your gum mixture onto it. Knead like dough, working in the powdered sugar until the gum stops sticking to your hands.
05 - Once your gum has a good consistency, form it into balls, strips, or whatever shapes you like. If you want sour gum, mix in the citric acid at this point.
06 - Place your shaped gum pieces on a piece of wax paper and let them sit for about 30 minutes. This resting time helps the gum develop the perfect chewy texture.

# Notes:

01 - Always use food-safe flavoring oils specifically made for candy making.
02 - You can get creative with endless color and flavor combinations - try mint, fruit flavors, or even cinnamon!
03 - Gum base can be purchased from specialty candy supply stores or online.
