# Ingredients:

01 - 6 cups sliced onions.
02 - 2 tablespoons butter.
03 - 2 tablespoons olive oil.
04 - 6 sprigs fresh thyme.
05 - 1 bay leaf.
06 - 1/2 cup white wine.
07 - 4 cups beef broth.
08 - 4 slices baguette.
09 - 1 1/2 cups Gruyere cheese.

# Instructions:

01 - Cook onions with thyme and bay leaf in butter and oil until deep brown, about 45 minutes.
02 - Add wine, boil off alcohol. Add broth and simmer.
