Classic Cream Puffs (Print Version)

# Ingredients:

01 - 1 cup water.
02 - 1 stick butter.
03 - 4 eggs.
04 - 1 cup all-purpose flour.
05 - 1 teaspoon vanilla extract.
06 - 1 teaspoon white sugar.
07 - Powdered sugar for dusting.
08 - 1 pint heavy cream.
09 - 1/3 cup whole milk.
10 - 1 package (3.4 ounces) instant vanilla pudding.

# Instructions:

01 - Combine water, butter, sugar, and vanilla in a pan and bring to boil.
02 - Add flour all at once, stir until mixture forms a ball and pulls from sides.
03 - Remove from heat and let cool. Beat in eggs one at a time until smooth.
04 - Heat oven to 400°F.
05 - Drop tablespoon-sized dough onto parchment-lined baking sheets.
06 - Bake 15 minutes at 400°F.
07 - Lower temperature to 350°F and bake 15 more minutes.
08 - Remove from oven, cut a slit in each puff to release steam.
09 - Cool completely.
10 - Beat heavy cream, milk, and pudding mix until thick.
11 - Cut cooled puffs in half and fill with cream mixture using piping bag or spoon.
12 - Dust with powdered sugar before serving.

# Notes:

01 - Can make shells ahead and fill just before serving.
02 - Try different pudding flavors for variety.
03 - Add fruits, chocolate chips, or nuts to filling if desired.
04 - Store filled puffs in refrigerator.
05 - Best eaten same day they're filled.
