Old Fashioned Salmon Patties (Print Version)

# Ingredients:

→ Main Ingredients

01 - 1 can (14.75 oz) salmon, drained and flaked
02 - 1/4 cup finely chopped onion
03 - 1/4 cup finely chopped green bell pepper (optional)
04 - 1/2 cup breadcrumbs or crushed saltine crackers

→ Binding & Seasonings

05 - 1 large egg, beaten
06 - 2 tablespoons mayonnaise
07 - 1 tablespoon lemon juice
08 - 1 teaspoon Dijon mustard (optional)
09 - 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
10 - 1/2 teaspoon salt
11 - 1/4 teaspoon black pepper

→ For Cooking & Serving

12 - 2 tablespoons vegetable oil
13 - Lemon wedges for serving (optional)

# Instructions:

01 - Combine flaked salmon, onion, bell pepper, breadcrumbs, egg, mayonnaise, lemon juice, mustard, and seasonings in a bowl.
02 - Shape mixture into 6 equal patties, about 1/2 inch thick.
03 - Heat oil over medium heat. Fry patties 3-4 minutes per side until golden brown and crispy.
04 - Drain on paper towels. Serve warm with lemon wedges.

# Notes:

01 - Can use either breadcrumbs or crushed saltines for binding
02 - Mixture can be prepared ahead and refrigerated
03 - Optional add-ins include fresh herbs or hot sauce
