Easy Breakfast Sausage Rolls (Print Version)

# Ingredients:

→ Base Ingredients

01 - 1 pound breakfast sausage - use either pork or turkey
02 - 2 tubes of fresh crescent roll dough

→ Cheese & Seasonings

03 - 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese (or your favorite cheese blend)
04 - 1/4 cup cream cheese, brought to room temperature
05 - 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
06 - 1/2 teaspoon freshly ground black pepper

→ Finishing Touch

07 - 1 beaten egg for that perfect golden finish (optional)

# Instructions:

01 - Start by preheating your oven to 375°F (190°C). While you wait, line a baking sheet with parchment paper or a silicone mat to prevent sticking.
02 - Brown your breakfast sausage in a skillet over medium heat until it's thoroughly cooked. Drain off the extra grease and let it cool down a bit.
03 - In a mixing bowl, combine your cooked sausage with the shredded cheddar, softened cream cheese, garlic powder, and black pepper until everything's well mixed.
04 - Unroll your crescent dough and separate into triangles. Drop a generous spoonful of your sausage mixture onto the wide end of each triangle, then roll them up and place them seam-side down on your prepared baking sheet.
05 - If you're feeling fancy, brush the tops with beaten egg - this will give them a beautiful golden finish.
06 - Pop them in the oven for 12-15 minutes, until they're beautifully golden brown and cooked through.
07 - Serve these beauties while they're warm. They're great with ketchup, mustard, or if you're feeling indulgent, a creamy breakfast gravy!

# Notes:

01 - Want to make it even heartier? Try adding some scrambled eggs to the filling!
02 - Spice lovers can kick it up a notch with spicy sausage or red pepper flakes
03 - These keep well in an airtight container in the fridge for up to 3 days - just reheat in the oven when you're ready to enjoy
