Smothered Chicken Breast (Print Version)

# Ingredients:

01 - Boneless, skinless chicken breasts, 4.
02 - Salt and black pepper to taste.
03 - Olive oil, 2 tablespoons.
04 - Onion, sliced, 1 medium.
05 - Fresh garlic, minced, 2 cloves.
06 - Fresh mushrooms, sliced, 1 cup.
07 - Bell pepper, sliced, 1.
08 - Chicken broth, 1 cup.
09 - All-purpose flour, 1 tablespoon.
10 - Heavy cream, 1/2 cup.
11 - Parmesan cheese, grated, 1/2 cup.

# Instructions:

01 - Season chicken breasts with salt and pepper on both sides.
02 - Heat oil in large skillet over medium-high heat. Cook chicken until golden brown on both sides. Remove and set aside.
03 - In same skillet, sauté onions, garlic, mushrooms, and peppers until soft.
04 - Sprinkle flour over vegetables and cook one minute. Gradually stir in chicken broth.
05 - Return chicken to pan, cover and simmer until cooked through.
06 - Stir in cream and Parmesan until sauce thickens.
