Gooey Chocolate Pudding Cake (Print Version)

# Ingredients:

→ For the Batter

01 - 1/2 cup unsalted butter
02 - 1 1/2 cups granulated sugar
03 - 4 tablespoons unsweetened cocoa powder
04 - 2 cups all-purpose flour
05 - 2 teaspoons baking powder
06 - 1/4 teaspoon salt
07 - 1 cup milk
08 - 2 teaspoons vanilla extract

→ For the Topping

09 - 2 cups granulated sugar
10 - 1/2 cup unsweetened cocoa powder
11 - 3 cups boiling water
12 - Vanilla ice cream, for serving

# Instructions:

01 - Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
02 - Place the butter in a 9×13-inch baking dish and put it in the oven. Once the butter has completely melted, remove the dish from the oven and set it aside.
03 - In a bowl, mix together 1 1/2 cups sugar, 4 tablespoons cocoa powder, flour, milk, baking powder, salt, and vanilla extract until well combined. Spoon this batter over the melted butter in the baking dish, but don't stir them together.
04 - In a separate bowl, combine the 2 cups sugar and 1/2 cup cocoa powder. Sprinkle this mixture evenly over the batter in the pan. Then pour the boiling water over everything, but again, do not stir.
05 - Bake in the preheated oven until the top has set, about 35-40 minutes. The bottom will still be loose and gooey - that's how it should be!
06 - Let the cobbler cool for about 15 minutes before serving. Serve warm with a scoop of vanilla ice cream on top.
